Patricia Angkiriwang is a developer and information designer at Voilà: and the team’s technical lead. She is responsible for developing interactive data visualizations and designing visuals for client projects.
Patricia brings to Voilà: a broad skill set and interdisciplinary background. With a bachelor’s degree in biophysics and a master’s in zoology from the University of British Columbia, she has worked in fields such as physics education, climate change mitigation, biomedical engineering, and food security and sovereignty. She is passionate about human-centered design, systems approaches to problem solving, and communicating complex ideas in clear and nuanced ways.
Most recently, Patricia worked for UN Global Pulse, where she re-discovered her interests in web technologies and data visualization. There, she worked on interactive projects communicating the intricacies of agent-based models and predictive modelling decisions in the context of migrants and refugees.
Patricia currently resides on traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations.
