Finally, it’s beginning.
It’s with considerable excitement that I finally introduce to the world Voilà, an information design company.
You might say that this is another step on a path that started some twenty years ago. When the designer of the student newspaper left overnight, I was introduced to design and it followed me through my studies and career. Over time, it became clear that this is not just what I enjoy; it’s who I am, how I think.
So, two months ago, I left a good job and, today, Voilà is going live.
The goal of Voilà is to use analysis and visualization to help people understand and communicate their information better. It can be through a graph, a report, a dashboard, an infographic, a flow chart, a form, a presentation, and more. I’ve witnessed countless missed opportunities to be clear, to communicate successfully, even to understand one’s own data or to craft a message around it. I set up Voilà in response to this need.
In the beginning, Voilà will be the vehicle to present and explain my work to potential clients and collaborators, and to engage with the larger data visualization community. In time, I hope to grow the company beyond what I can do on my own. Do get in touch if you’re interested to work together or need help.
Why the name? The word ”voilà”, used in French and English, evokes the feelings of wonder, satisfaction and even relief born from discovery, clarity and completion. That’s what I want the company to provide.
Let’s begin.
